		<description>Interestingly enough, if you look at the Constitution, we are allowed to issue "letters of marquee" to private individuals in order to carry out military actions. We eschewed that approach as part of the changes that came under the League of Nations, and the developing ideas of the Geneva Convention.

However, the possibility was never legally ruled out nor has the Constitution been changed. Thus, any such private contractor could be seen to be working under a "letter of marquee" and actually have legal protections.

I would love to have one of your readers who is a lawyer do a legal analysis on this bit of Consitutional trivia.</description>
