First they declare a fatwa in an attempt to deny artistic freedom. Considering they implied threats (”lucky that angry Christians don’t react the way extremist Muslims do when they’re offended - otherwise they may have more than their heads cut off”) in their first press release and considering the artist recieved death threats, it all sounds rather fatwa-ish to me.

Really Christian too: skip over the angry protest and go right for the death threats. Mmm. Jesus got better treatment, early in his career, from the religiously legalistic and conservative political players of his day than did Cosimo Cavallaro.

Seems the problem really was, according to the earliest press releas, that, (HORRORS!) Jesus was depicted naked… you know like it really happened

Then, in further trouble w/ reality, they deny a fatwa ever happened and refuse to forgive anyone. Nice. Very Lenten.

This would be one place where “Christofacist” applies, I think.
