"I don’t think anyone ever coined a term for someone who breaks away from Orthodoxy to make a new start; heresy?"

Depends on what you want to call it. Generally it's "Apostasy" in the eyes of the pious. Moving on to make a new start in the eyes of the generous.

Although I fail to see how that figures into this discussion: I wanted to explore the group so I've been making posts about it (see the 'praxis conversation' topic)

Of course, I'm stretching the term to make it mean "making it up as you go along". Not very precise. Christian? If they are, I have to extend that to include the Mormons and Rev. Moon too, and I'm not doing it. Also large parts (there are notable exceptions) of Anglicanism. Praxis sounds like friendly folks, but what's the difference between being in it and not being in it? It sounds rather like each individual can "do" his or her own liturgy (whatever that is) alone or not. Instant new denomination, one person at a time. It ain't Cathoilic, it ain't Orthodox, it might just be Protestant. I don't think anyone ever coined a term for someone who breaks away from Orthodoxy to make a new start; heresy?
They do seem to pick and choose which historical beliefs they like this week.

Given that the standard definition of protestant is protesting the power of the pope, so are you and I, Bob. But I think Praxis might accept the term of "Christian" and insist that the Pope is too: as are you and I.

I'll allow that title to them: others seem not to.

I begin to question is anyone who says - beyond Jesus - we have the only right way to do it is, at all, Christian.

Well, they discovered a variant in the Easter reckoning that would have had them out on their ear at Nicea, haven't really figured out that the Trinity is really *that* important...By all means, don't let them see Vladimir Lossky's "Mystical Theology", page 66; there he says "Between the Trinity and Hell there lies no other choice". I guess the right word to describe the group might be Protestant?
