You’re all invited to my new lectionary site, which I will run in addition to this blog.

These postings are meditations on the readings assigned in The Episcopal Church’s Daily Office Lectionary. They are written by a layman and posted for your edification, consideration and response. These are not “official teachings” in anyway. Rather they are intended as “sparks”. As always, please flame responsibly.

The purpose of the comments box on here is not to correct my errors, but to share your own responses to the scripture. These may have been generated by my sharings or else by the stories themselves. This is a “rabbinic” style commentary: creating a midrash on the lectionary. We’re not looking for “right” and “wrong”, although we may get to majority and minority opinions.

I will try to keep this up-to-date, doing one post a day, at least 5? maybe 6? times a week. We’ll see. Sometimes I’m good at such things: I did it once, near daily, for two years. Sometimes not.

You may also be interested in the What and How pages.

This conversation on Sarx will continue! But please come and join the conversation on +Z’ev.

  • Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men.
