Work.
Shortly I’ll be switching my Fridays from 3rd shift to second: this means I’ll get home at midnight on Friday… sleep… and wake up to a perfectly normal weekend - not having to go back to work until Monday night at 11:45 PM. I have no idea what this means other than, suddenly, I’d be able to do something of a Saturday evening: my goodness, there may be beer in the future!
Not bad for Friday and now it’s 4:30 and I think I shall read some.
Be-bop a re-bop, rhubarb pie!

I have been craving strawberry rhubarb pie, which was everywhere when I lived in Minnesota, but not much to be found here in Memphis. Rhubarb does not seem to grow in the very northern delta regions. Does it grow in the western Carolinas? If so, I may need to make a trip eastward to have a weekend beer with you and get my fork on some rhubarb pie.
I’ve not seen any growing… but it is in all the stores. My Grandma has it growing in her back yard - in Upstate NY - that’s where I developed my love for the stuff. There, it is a weed on the side of the roads (like Fennel is in San Francisco), so common as to be ignored.
As I type this, there is a container of freshly-chopped rhubarb on the kitchen counter. As you say, it’s basically a weed, along with the peppermint, spearmint, and catnip we’ve got growing in the back yard.
I have no idea what the literal significance of “Visit Trinity?” on your list might be, but it sounds to me like a great thing to have on a daily to-do list.
It was an idea to visit a parish in townn.
Didn’t happen. Neither did the Rhubarb: it was $4/Lb which strikes me as a bit pricey, although it may have just been the location.
$4 per pound?!?! Okay, I’ll stick some in the freezer for you first thing in the morning. Next time you come to southern Ontario, swing on by and you’ll have all the rhubarb you could ever ask for.
That will be in 30 days.
But I can’t bring non-processed food back… I have to bring all that up at the Border.
I’m going to a farmers’ market today…
