Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

I am a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church in America (ROCIA). We are growing a Mission community here in Buffalo.

Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. (Closing lines of the Táin Bó Cúalnge)

What Were We Thinking? (#2)

I had to do some more of these from MTM, Season 2. We were insane, I’m telling you.

This is Mary dress up, I think, in a 70s version of a Choirboy. It’s another fine example of “this is not about sex.”

Is Rhoda wearing one or five scarves here? Why? Trying to lure the Twin Cities Strangler out of hiding? Maybe Murray is the Twin Cities Strangler? He always struck me as REALLY scary. (Episode 3)

And finally (for now) this classic from Episode 4:

Mary, what are those chains attached to? She’s in a classroom here, a class being taught by her new boyfriend. When he finally kisses her, she’s wearing enough layers to keep warm in Minneapolis. The chains are nowhere in sight. I’ve just noticed that Rhoda is wearing the same scarf or scarves in this shot.
