Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. Unified Theory

Will I know you when I see you?
Look for you in the faces where I go
Beneath the complexity, is there simplicity?
Or is it something I can’t know?

’cause I keep lookin’ ’round the corner
Is this the way? Is it here or there?
Is there anyone out there who cares to see their complicity
And how this is all for us to bear?

In Everything
What’s it mean?
In this in between?

And I’m not askin’ for your charity
Hell, I don’t know what I’m askin’ for
We could attempt to find some clarity between you and me
But I feel I need something more

’cause I spent a lifetime all for this one thing
Careful not to leave a stone unturned
Still I fear I might have turned you off and all is lost
And now the bridge is burned

In everything
What’s it mean?
In this in between
What can I bring?
In everything
Is truth unseen?
And is in between
Is everything?

Props to The Village. Read that post which includes an email from the band – wow. I like them a lot.

The last several years of our life have been quite a whirlwind. We stopped touring the evangelical “circuit” as a national “worship band,” planted a church, shut the doors on that church 2 years later, “lost” our faith, recorded an album of farewell songs to our old life, traveled around the States on a pilgrimage, got our faith back in a different sort of way, hiked the Alps, got pregnant, settled in San Francisco to be a part of a community, had a baby in the living room, and are settling in to the chaotic world of parenting.

Curiously… I note they premiered this album at Goat Hall in San Francisco: a venue that is, in many ways, tied in with the community at St Gregory of Nyssa Church. Wow. This all makes a big loop, huh?

One more… they are part of the community that wrote this mantra. Woots.
