Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. In a Parallel Universe

Over at AlterNet, Johann Hari travels with Neocons on a Cruise and wonders What Conservatives Say When They Think We Aren’t Listening:

The Iraq war has been an amazing success, global warming is just a myth and Guantanamo Bay is practically a holiday camp. The annual cruise organized by the ‘National Review,’ mouthpiece of right-wing America, is a parallel universe populated by straight-talking, gun-toting, God-fearing Republicans.

(Props to Boing Boing, of course.)

I was left gasping. I can think of nothing to comment.

I am appalled. The ability to see other people as Human Beings just as oneself, to treat them as one would like to be treated, to see the “other” as also Human, is so crucial and here seems to be so lacking from most of the people in the article.

Lord have mercy on the human race. 8-(
