I dunno about “satanic”. It looks like there’s an I Ching symbol behind it it might refer to the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese Calender. The next one is in 2011. I wonder if the owner is a “Rabbit” year birth. Just a thought.

That’s the title the photograpehr gave the pic…

I think he was referring to the red eyes on the rabbit: click through to see it larger.

Granted – a lot of rabbits in Japanese art seem to be white with red eyes

It could be that they’re albino. It has been a custom, btw, that I’ve read of if an albino animal is found it is taken to a shrine. Or it could be because red and white are the national colours of Japan. Or just the artist’s preference. Then there’s the colour symbology of a culture. In Japan red is associated with expelling disease and demons.

I could “rabbit on” but I should probably stop now. 8-)

(If this post shows up more then once, I apologize. It doesn’t seem to be letting it through)

Hi Byrd – the anti-spam feature didn’t like the link to onmark productions… sorry about that.

Didn’t know that about Abinos in Japan, although the “national colour” thing makes sense. I’d not thought about that.
