Got to Love Stupid People

The Khalil Gibran International Academy is NYC’s Arabic/English school. The Loud Right - including my best friends, the Catholic League - accuse the language of radicalisation. I listened to the NPR story this morning… it was appalling. All you need to say is “Not all Arabic Speakers are Muslim.” Use “Khalil Gibran” as a prime example: his name is on the school. He was a Christian.
But no one said it.
The NPR story recounted a LOT of xenophobic, racist fear-mongering. The events recounted in the story were so un-New York City that it made me sad. Let me rephrase that: it was VERY NYC if we’re looking at Early 20th Century. It was nothing like the NYC of Mayors Koch and Dinkins, however.
The Wiki Article, as it now stands, does a good job of recounting the problem.

‘The NPR story…’
I expect a lot more of this ’stupid people’ journalism as we are on the march, opposed to the rush, towards war with Iran.
