Wow … this is really weird. Reads like a bad “Onion Dome” article.
I had no idea that an Orthodox organization took over the SPCK bookshops. Even after Googling it, I’m still not entirely clear what this is all about.
Sad to see, on the SSG website, the tired old mythology/propaganda about Holy England being “Orthodox” before the Battle of Hastings and (poof!) magically “Roman Catholic” after.
Well, I suppose if you repeat something often enough …
As I understand it, there was some financial irregularities in the business end of the bookstores. And they were about to close completely. So the SSG stepped in.
I’m waiting for the “Books that cannot be sold” list.
I’m guessing Vladimir Moss will earn some new retail shelf space from this.
Am I missing it with google? Where is the SSG website?
