Hag Sameach – or even S’praznikum! – to those as celebrate the Festival of Lights: most especially to Avi and Tamara and the rest over at Jews By Choice!!

Following some suggestions in the 70s-style The Hanukkah Book (see in the side bar), I’ve been exploring local materials. This is a NC Mountains menorah: made from Cheerwine Bottles. (There’s really only one place left to get ‘em in glass any more.) I’ve designed a container for it but that actually makes it larger than my window. So there’s more work to do.

I had it in my head that “Cheer” and “Wine” were both good points of celebration for the holiday. And also that the slogan “it’s good taste – on all occasions” was apropos. The red logo and the green bottle may need some work…

Now, an odd question for you, but why was my anti-spam word qu33r. Sounds queer to me :)
