Malapropisms of the Underworld

The History Channel’s Cities of the Underworld has a wonderful premise: to explore underneath cities of history (Rome, Pompeii, etc.) in the sewers, cisterns, etc. But sadly the host, Don Wildman, seems totally without knowledge of his topic. As usual (for me) it was annoying when he was talking about Rome and Pompeii.
But tonight’s show is about Jerusalem - and so his lack of knowledge is more-than-annoying for this religion geek. He says things like “Non-muslims are not allowed here” as he - a non-muslim - walks in. Or referring to “Hospitilers” instead of “Hospitaliers”. John was “Prophecising an ancient battle.” He talks about the “Kings of Israel and Judea” etc. I just roll my eyes.
But the tunnels are nice.
I love how he gets all stressed out about how tight the crawl spaces are… meanwhile there’s a cameraman and a light guy in front of him in the tunnel.
“…inspired a Christian Outlaw to write the book of Revelation…”
Oy.
