Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

I am ordained in the Independent Sacramental Movement, serving under the omophor of Bp Craig of the Universal Anglican Church. We are growing an Eastern Rite community here in Buffalo.

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. Avast ye! (Part 2)

I watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age, last night. And had odd thoughts about B16 and his fixation on keeping Europe Christian. But while I was watching the movie I wondered about Elizabeth I’s relation to the Jews among her people: there’s not a lot of good news.

Of course, one aspect of the English-Spanish situation is pirates – stealing money from Spain to help England. This comes up in the movie during that portion covering the relationship of Sir Walter Raleigh with the Spanish. It’s rather amusing, actually.

But, to continue the news of the Jewish Pirates, it seems that some, at least, got involved specifically to take revenge on the Catholics of Spain for the inquisition. Considering what the Spanish were doing to the natives of the Americas – and trying to do to the British – this is another good reason to like the Pirates!

(This says nothing about what the Protestants later did to the Indians of North America.)

Hmm. Does that make Pastafarianism an Abrahamic religion?

There’s a book coming out this fall.
