I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. Music Trivia…

Here’s a Fr Greg special: all from Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 from 27 February 1977, rebroadcast this Saturday at Noon EST on XM Radio’s 70s station. Happy Birthday, Fr G! Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!

Here are the lyrics… name the songs… As always, if I think the song is well known, there are fewer words. Post your guesses in the comments section. The Answers will post tomorrow night.

1) I asked the CIA they said it was ok to use their private phone.

2) You’re standing by the bed like someone I don’t know

3) We grew up together, two kids in the park, carved our initials deep in the bark.

7) She got a hungry love it’s good enough to eat.

8) Sneaking out the back door, to hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine.

  • Thanks for the birthday wishes, but this one killed me. Here is what I have:
    1) Hot Line but don’t know the group.
    3) Arianna? No – Alice, or Me and Alice?
    6) This is a huge Thelma Houston hit Don’t Leave Me This Way
    8) I Wish by Stevie Wonder
    9) Car Wash!!!! Rose Royce
And that is my shameful performance. Can’t wait to see the answers.

The answers have posted: I think I got a stumper this time :-)

But I also think I found an enjoyable way to generate trivia quizzes (cuz I love listening to Casey Kasem). We’ll see if I get another posted this coming weekend!
