Back and all.

OK: back from a lovely weekend in Canada. I left after the vigil on Saturday night (someone has to let me know how a full vigil, plus baptism, only lasted 1.5 hours). I’d been told there would be no reception after, but, as I walked out to the parking lot, there it was all spread out in the basement… ah well: I was at the boarder by 9:30 and over to Hamilton by 10:30. And Brodie and I promptly ate 2 pizzas. Two. One each. Bears.
Sunday we chowed down on chocolate and then went to Blockbuster where we purchased I am Legend and Across the Universe. We made an Easter Dinner of Rye Pasta with a lovely organic sauce and some tasty oat wasa bread with Salmon Cream Cheese and onions. Hippies.
Then we made some organic popcorn and watched Legend all cuddled up on the sofa. EXCELLENT movie, btw: well worth the getting.
Brodie gave me a lovely easter basket that wags its bunny tail and says “Happy Easter!” It was filled with coffee beans and very upscale hippie soaps. I gave him an organic mop. Romance.
I left Hamilton this AM at 6:30 or so and arrived here at work well before I needed to be there. It would have been even earlier if there’d been no line at the crossing. 60 miles door to door. This evening I looked at some apartments. One was drop dead awesome. But it will be all kinds of tight in the budget department. And the folks - who have a *very* good reputation around the city and with their tenants - feel like they are playing bait and switch. I don’t know.
All in all, a good weekend.
Today, btw, is Dyngus Day here in Buffalo - an odd, central European pagan thing that has gotten attached to Easter Monday.
“We are potentially looking at one of the largest pussy willow shortages in Dyngus history,” explained Marty Biniasz, founder of Dyngus Day Buffalo, who is concerned how the lack of willows might affect the day’s odd courting rituals. “Along with the sprinkling of water, the use of pussy willows is an integral part of the Dyngus Day celebration,” said Biniasz. On Dyngus Day, men and boys flirtatiously swat women and girls with pussy willows and dose them with water to attract their attention and affection. Without mass quantities of pussy willows for romancing, there might not be as many positive outcomes.”
Yup. Sounds like a pious Pascha to me.
So, um, everyone is Polish on Dyngus Day.
