Limericks in honour of May Day
The merry month of May
we, on a sunny day
bedecked a pole
stuck in a hole
and danced off in a family way
New honour to ancient way
upon this sunny day
with flowers & gold
Our Lady enfold
& crown her the Queen of the May.
labour we will unchain
salvation we will attain
with Red flags we start
revolt in the heart
until the last banker is slain
may is all of these things
creation flown on new wings
new life is rising
& stuff surprising
revolution comes in the spring
