Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. Nafeez shares with us the horror of London’s drifting to the right. And as he does so he shares this brilliance:

But the new racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia is defined fundamentally by its new chameleon visage, its extraordinary ability to shape-shift at any moment and appear as its exact opposite. Here we have instances of Boris being an anti-colonialist, an anti-racist, and an anti-terrorist. Yet it is in these very instances that he reveals himself for what he is.

Racism : anti-colonialist :: xenophobia : anti-racist :: Islamophobia : anti-terrorist.

And he provides some quotes that are good examples of these political double-entendres. I’m reminded that anti-Catholicism is the last reputable discrimination, so also, is Islamophobia, described as Anti-Terrorism…

    Oh dear; and I thought the world may be waking up. We got ride of our former PM, John “The Rodent” Howard, thankfully at the last election; but he did so much to ingrain racism and fear of Muslims in our culture I think it will, sadly, be with us for a long time yet.

    Lord, have mercy.
