Fr Christopher shares the wonderful news that the LCAC (Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church) is now a member of the ICCC (International Council of Community Churches):

The Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church has been accepted as a member of the International Council of Community Churches. The ICCC is a member of the World Council of Churches, Churches Uniting in Christ, the National Council of Churches (USA) and Christian Churches Together in the USA.

In case your not following along in your programme (How can you tell the players without a programme?) here’s the line-up:

The World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches are too liberal for most Orthodox. But, for some odd reason, that new thing, “Christian Churches Together” seems to appeal to everyone: all the same players are present. The Self-Ruled Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese pulled out of the NCC - and promptly joined the CCT, even though the membership was the same. And now word comes that both groups contain Liberal Catholic clergy and Indy-Sacramentalist clergy.

I think this is wonderful for it forces “real” churches to play well with their Christian brothers and sisters in the Indy churches.

As I noted in comments to Fr Christopher, part of me is amused at the image of the spiritual children of Arnold Harris Matthew giving communion to ECUSAn clergy. Yes, it is true that not all the churches in CUIC have exchanged ministries yet, it is also true that at CUIC events, no one would refuse communion…

So the remnants of AHM’s LCC, disguised as ICCC meet the ECUSA offspring of the CofE bishops who rejected AHM in the first place, under the auspices of the CUIC. While the EOC, fleeing the WCC/NCC end up at meetings with the LCC via the CCT.

Yes, I am a geek.

«Christ came to separate the genuine and the valuable in the world from the false and the worthless, the Divine from the diabolic. Christ -- is the Saviour of the genuine world, that which is authentic and of the fullness of being, the Divine cosmos, wounded by sin, and not the inauthentic world, not the chaos, not the kingdom of the prince of this world, not the non-being.»

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men.
