Yesterday was one of those days that went really well - put was punctuated by two hits right in the solar plexus…
You may know my “missing friends” page. Midday I received an email reporting that one of them, Joe, has been dead for nearly 10 years. The events surrounding his death were sad and a friend is forced to wonder “would it have been different if we were still in touch?” As is the way with these things, I’d recently seen (several times) a man on the bus who was so very much like Joe as I remember him that it inspired me to begin a short story about meeting my old friend. News of his death has inspired me to continue work on the story.
Last night, arriving home from laundry and all, I learned that my Great Aunt Linda had died. I’d not seen Aunt Linda since I graduated HS. But I’ve many fond memories of her, of her hospitality and, especially, of her raising chickens. The memorial service is this weekend…
Of your charity remember Joe and Linda in your prayers. May they rest in peace and may their memories be eternal.
