Christ is Risen!

Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. New Design

Or an old one…

The header image is a shot from where I used to work woven with two icons and a piece of jewellery. The first icon was written by my friend, Susan. It is of John Chrysostom and sits, now, in my office. across the face of the icon is the Prayer of John Chrysostom, familiar to users of the BCP. (Almighty God, who hast given us grace at this time with one accord… etc) Over at the far right are two eyes and a nose from another icon, and I admit I’ve forgotten from whence those came. (Perhaps the Theotokos, “Sweet Kissing”? I don’t know…)

In the centre is a piece of Ethiopian jewellery that I have ’round my neck even now. When I lived in SF, it was one of my favourite things to wear. I lost it a year ago at Brodie’s apartment and, just last week, looked down and there it was! Literally. Neither Brodie nor I had seen it there before…

This was the original design for my blog, tzev. I think I may have used it here, prior to the old, narrow design. I wanted to return to an even older form, but I’m having the darnedest time getting it to work in WordPress.
