It is the 3rd day

One of the on-going issues that non-Christians have with Biblical Chronology is the clear evidence that there are not three days between Good Friday and Pascha. It dawns on me that the Romans, at least, counted inclusively: Friday is 1, Saturday is 2 and Sunday is 3. This is today is two days from tomorrow. Thus there are three days between Friday and Sunday in Roman counting. But did the Jews ever use such a counting system? Or does this indicate that by the time Pascha was fixed on Sunday instead of on 14 Nissan or other options, the Gentiles ruled the church totally?
