Christ is Risen!

Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

I am a priest in the Russian Orthodox Church in America (ROCIA). We are growing a Mission community here in Buffalo.

Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. MOST OF Elise’s Recipes for Cooking on a budget are things I grew up with – especially the Hamburger and Macaroni! Be sure and check out her budget shopping tips.

Here’s a few tips of my own:

Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Which is, of course, the modern take off on this one:

Use it up, wear it out. Make it do, or do without.

Apart from a few nutty religious groups that actually expect self control, we’re not used to hearing “do without” these days.

Pity.

It’s what we’re going to have to learn.
