Christ is Risen!

Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

Disclaimer

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. My Lord Bishop

THE Church of England’s Bishop of Lewes gets it:

I believe that God ultimately has allowed this crisis for good. Our nation, like all the western nations, has become consumed with materialism. It has a stranglehold on our lives. We have found our security in ‘securities’ and have failed to grasp that nothing is permanent other than God. Our confidence has been misplaced. Something was needed to shake that and that is what we are experiencing.

If this shakes our confidence in mammon (money) and forces us back to our creator and redeemer it will have been worth it! That should be our prayers as Christians. We may all have to suffer a bit, but God is an expert at bringing good out of sad, difficult, even evil situations.

Sadly, his flock is not well catechised. But ok.
