  • this place looks vaguely familiar . . . . is there an Episcopal church within sight of it?

Not that I noticed. For all I know it may have been a former ECUSAn place. There’s a mention about the community buying the building.

Comments after returning from liturgy: very diverse community – many races and clearly many “former Orthodoxies”. Very interesting icons (I’ll take pictures next time) with LOTS of text on them. The music and liturgy was standard OCA – Diocese of NY, which is a little different from OCA in CA or Canada. I knew the music so I sang along without a booklet. A decent sermon (about the Angels). My only complaint was that it was entirely possible to be ignored during coffee hour – including when asking about the garbage can. But even that was balanced by the amazing content! The Orthodox DO know how to eat after LIturgy :)

I sent Father an email after I got home.
