Be Poets of the Logos!

Sarx (σαρξ) is the Greek word for "flesh". This is the blog of a Southern Man (sojourning in Buffalo, NY) attempting to follow God in the way of Jesus.

NB: I'm currently on a "Blogging Sabbatical" to celebrate my 15th Year of online Journaling. While "Daily Tweets", the occasional review of a book, movie or eatery and Photo Blogging all continue, the daily posts have stopped until January 2011. All comments are currently in moderation.

I who have written this story, or rather this fable, give no credence to the various incidents related in it. For some things in it are the deceptions of demons, other poetic figments; some are probable, others improbable; while still others are intended for the delectation of foolish men. Tumbleweed XS-House: $99

XER Host lives in a 14-bedroom, four-bath, four-storey mansion of historic-designation. But, truth be told, the small-house and tiny-house movement has been fascinating me for several years. The only thing that makes my mansion work is the community inside it.

If I were to strike out on my own, I’d like my community to be more skete-like: a group of tiny houses together (each with individual design components), with a community building for meetings, shared meals, festivals and the occasional “Talisman” game. It’s sort of a hippie version of New Skete, if that’s not redundant

To do that, we’d need a few conjoined urban lots and a bunch of thinks like these: Tumbleweed XS-House On Sale for $99.

The plans’re on sale… (any generous readers out there?)

huw, have you seen the small cells that the monks at st. isaac of syria skete have? i think they are right up your alley.

    happy turkey day!

  • I’m utterly smitten with these designs! Want! Want! But it dawns on me – what a great “granny flat” for an older family member on his/her own – if you’re existing property is big enough – much better than them living alone, or in a home.
