Wow... but creepy
Someone spent 2:23:29 of yesterday reading 80 pages of Doxos...
Made it to the meeting this AM. Made a pot of beef stew when I got home, and started work on the Icon "corner" in the living room (the East Direction is a flat wall). I also began and finished work on the icon corner in my room.

Top to bottom, left to right...
The Incarnation, the Last Judgement
St Mary Magdalen, St Raphael (thank you, David, St Kosmos Aiotolos
Fr Seraphim Rose, St Panteleimon (tiny one), St Elizabeth, the New Martyr, Prophet Samuel (for my Godson) , St Paraceva (tiny one), Pope St Gregory, the Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia.
All Saints (again, thank you, David)
I'll post a picture of the "main" one when I get it done.
Yes, I know it needs a lamp.
And my blog comes up in a google for the lead singer of my favorite Christian Band... very cool. Does that make me an official fan now? :-)
Not bad for a day. I think I'll go to bed.
COMMENTS
Ian -
Welcome! I hope you are "exploring orthodoxy" through a priest's guidance and not through reading blogs! We have enough "neterodox" out there!
I love the icons, H-R !
Where did you get the icon of Fr Seraphim Rose ?
I asked for his intercession yesterday, and got it.
The first time I have ever asked the prayers of a not-yet canonised saint :-)
That is a beautiful corner.
Nice job, Huwster. Did you make the cabinet-thingy? I've never seen icons in picture frames before... I really like the shelf/cabinet-thing. Really.
Thanks - I did make it: only took about an hour or so. It's only 6' tall, and the sides are about 8" wide, but the one I made in SF was 8' and the sides were 12". But the one in the living room will pick up a few of my too-many icons as well as those of the roomie.
HR...what is your favorite Christian band?
Awesome shelf!
The googled string was "Mac Powell"+Blog Mac being the lead singer for Third Day.
I know... *shakes head*... very unorthodox, very unascetic...
People talkin' like it's the end of time
I look up to the heavens for a sign
Everybody's lookin' at me
But I won't be deceived or afraid
'Cause I know that the sun is on the way
Sky falls down
It crumbles into the sea
The sun goes out
He's coming back for me
I'll be found at the place
Where the gravity leaves the ground
I won't be comin' down
I've heard rumors that war's not far away
If they take me I know just what to say
Everybody's up in arms
But I won't be alarmed or afraid
'Cause I know that the sun is on the way
That was me--I do random searches for Third Day stuff. It happens all the time. I search for "blog" in the title because that way hopefully, I'll get people's blogs. There are very limited actual sites that I haven't already seen about Third Day, but the world of blogs are ever-changing.
And I pick Mac because he's the most popular and if I just say "Third Day" then I'll get tons of random stuff;)
See, if you look, I did it again;)
Just saw :-)

Thanks for sharing the photo of the icons.
And I can well understand "Someone spent 2:23:29 of yesterday reading 80 pages of Doxos..." -- I'm taking my time going through it all. ;-)
God bless.
